Nature’s Net Wrap – transforming bale management

A father and son duo who ranch together in Vermillion, Alberta, have come up with a more sustainable way to wrap bales and ranchers now have a sustainable alternative to traditional bale netting with the introduction of Nature’s Net Wrap, the world’s first compostable bale net wrap.

This product stands out in the agricultural industry for its commitment to sustainability and performance. “One day while we were cutting net wrap and twine off of our bales, we couldn’t help but think there had to be a more sustainable solution to the way we do things,” the website says of the Ruuds.

Nature’s Net Wrap is crafted from biopolymers, which are sourced from plant-based renewable resources, highlighting the product's minimal environmental impact. This choice supports the agricultural community’s growing shift towards sustainable and responsible practices.

The Ruuds have tested and refined the product for several years.

The plant-based wrap is just as durable as traditional wrap, no extra layers are required.  Bales remain secure and protected for up to a year. This performance is critical for ranchers who need reliable solutions without environmental compromise.

It does cost about $1 per bale than traditional wrap, but for those who are concerned about the use of plastic wrap, it is a great alternative.

Available through established dealers like Case IH and New Holland, Nature’s Net Wrap makes it easy for ranchers to access and integrate this eco-friendly product into their operations.
