The product has four active ingredients

Corteva has launched a new fungicide seed treatment in time for the 2026 planting season.

Lumiscend LUXE combines four active ingredients – difenoconazole, metalaxyl-M and S-isomer, ipconazole, and inpyrfluxam – to provide farmers with a robust seed treatment option spanning Groups 3, 4, and 7.

“We’re making it easier for farmers to choose the right fungicide for cereal crops in Western Canada,” Chad Garrod, seed applied technology portfolio product manager with Corteva, told Farms.com. “The moment we treat that seed we’re protecting against seed- and soil-borne diseases that could be present.”

The product is registered for use on wheat, barley, oats, rye, and triticale, and registered for use across Canada.

Lumiscend LUXE protects against fusarium, rhizoctonia, pythium, and other bunts and smuts that can harm crops, while also supporting improved emergence and better root development.

And Corteva testing indicates it provides superior protection when compared to competitor products.

The company conducted multiple trials in 2025 in Western Canada.

“Between the disease protection, improved vigor, denser plant stands and better root development, it all resulted in a 6.3 bushel per acre yield advantage over competitor standards,” Garrod said. “That’s a significant advantage.”

And the trial seeding didn’t always occur in optimal conditions, further highlighting Lumiscend LUXE’s performance.

“Some of our trials were seeded late into dryer and warmer conditions, and we still saw yield advantages,” Garrod said.

Using products like seed treatments helps give farmers control when multiple factors in a season are uncontrollable, Garrod added.

Any farmer interested in learning more about Lumiscend LUXE can contact a local Corteva rep or visit the company’s website.
