One show is already underway

2025 is only one week old but the farm show calendar is chalked full of events for the U.S. ag community.

Here’s a small preview of some of the farm shows occurring early on in the year.

One show, for example, has already started.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show opened on Jan. 4 and will run until Jan. 11 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, Penn.

The theme for the 2025 show is Powering Pennsylvania and aims to celebrate the people in the state’s ag industry.

Some of the new events at the show for 2025 include celebrating women in Pennsylvania ag.

That kicks off on Jan. 9 at 9am with a presentation rom Dr. Temple Grandin and will include demos and networking with other women in Pennsylvania agriculture.

Also on Thursday, PPL will be conducting a live line demonstration to help farmers protect themselves around power lines.

In addition to the individual events happening within the show, there’s also a full trade show with exhibitors to take in.

At the end of January, the American Farm Bureau has its annual convention in San Antonio, Texas.

The event from Jan. 24 to 29, will help the national organization set the agenda as the leading voice of ag in Washington, D.C.

The convention will also include educational workshops, additional tours to local farms, and guest speakers.

One of the keynote speakers is Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot and cofounder of Folds of Honor. This nonprofit provides educational scholarships for children and spouses of fallen or disabled military service members and first responders.

In early February, the Southern Farm Show takes place at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raliegh, N.C.

From Feb. 5 to 7, farmers can attend the largest annual ag exposition in the Carolinas and Virginia. It hosts over 400 exhibitors and includes meetings, workshops and helps farmers prepare for the upcoming growing season.

The 2025 event will include educational presentations on pesticide use, and showcase some new equipment like Massey Ferguson’s MF 1M.25 compact tractor.

And running from Feb. 12 to 15 is the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky.

The seminar schedule hasn’t been released yet, but the 2024 show saw more than 73,000 people attend, with more than 800 exhibitors filling 10 exhibit halls.

A team from Farms.com attended the 2024 show and came back with enough content to fill multiple special editions of a machinery newsletter dedicated to products from the event.

Canada's Agriculture Day 2025

Video: Canada's Agriculture Day 2025

Let's celebrate Canadian agriculture.

Well, number one, you don't eat without farmers. Farmers put food on the table. And what could be more important than that?

Well, I think it's important that Canadians understand exactly what takes place, what happens to produce this food, no matter what sector you're talking about.

An awful lot of work goes into that. It's important to understand that meat does not come out of a showcase, and milk does not come out of a bottle. It's produced by farmers and hard work.

Canada has the best farmers in the world. And agriculture is vital to Canada.

In 2024, our agriculture and agri-food sector represented $150 billion of Canada's GDP, nearly $100 billion of our exports, and one in nine jobs.

From grains to fruits to dairy and beef, we are truly blessed with an incredible bounty. Having spent my whole life in agriculture, I see so much potential for the sector.

This time last year, I was proud to open our first-ever agriculture and trade office in the Indo-Pacific, the world’s fastest-growing economy, to cement our presence in the region and grow our exports even more. We've also been making historic investments to help our farmers to boost their yields, protect the planet, and earn a fair living.

The world wants more top-quality, sustainable food, and I know our Canadian farmers can deliver. And it's so important that you do that with pride. We need you.

Quite simply, you eat the most top quality food in the world. You do that because of the quality of farmers and ranchers you have in this country.

Just say thank you to a farmer or a rancher. They work very hard, yes, for a living, but also with a sense of pride in what they produce.

That's what Canada's Agriculture Day is all about.
