New updates from FeedFlo provide key data to operators.

FeedFlo is a Winnipeg, Manitoba-headquartered company that offers what it says is the world’s only on-pipe feed sensor.

The same-named on-pipe feed sensor, FeedFlo, tells operators exactly how much feed is being delivered to the animals so one can be sure that every pig in the barn is well fed and capable of growing.

With industry-leading precision and up-to-the-minute real-time data and alerts, FeedFlo is a simple and affordable way to improve production outcomes across one’s organization.

All users get access to FeedFlo's online platform and mobile app. Powerful insights, reporting, and analytics are all at the tip of your fingers!

The innovative FeedFlo sensor attaches directly to each of the feedlines and takes over readings every second to ensure that its data is accurate and that no feed is missed.

Designed to fit standard three-inch (75mm) feed lines, it can be easily installed without any disruption to the animals.

Now, FeedFlo the company, has announced that FeedFlo the product’s software has been updated to include two new features: continuous calibration and inventory management, which make it easier to keep your sensors accurate and manage feed deliveries.

Sensor Calibrations: FeedFlo now offers mobile support for precision and continuous calibrations. Operators can use their smartphones to log monthly 'bin checks' and calibrate their FeedFlo sensors seamlessly.

Inventory Management: The company’s customers asked for it, so FeedFlo has delivered, as it now provides fully automated feed ordering—even during marketing! Operators can track bin levels and projected empty dates, and sync up delivery information using the "Inventory" tab.

Video: Season 7, Episode 1: Managing Risk and Seeing Opportunities in U.S. Pork Production

Today’s episode features three guests discussing the similarities and differences between pork production in the United States and Brazil, along with strategies for managing risk in today’s industry while recognizing and acting on opportunities. First, Dr. Anne Caroline de Lara, executive manager of live pig production at Seara Alimentos, a JBS company in Brazil, is joined by Dr. Matthew Turner, head of operations for JBS Live Pork. Together, they discuss how labor, climate and ventilation challenges vary between Brazil and the United States, while underscoring their shared commitment to raising healthy pigs. They also point to lessons producers in both countries can take from one another’s systems and on-farm experiences. Then, Brady Reicks, risk manager at Reicks View Farms, shares his perspective on risk management, drawing from his background in markets and his transition into farming. He discusses how protecting margins varies by operation and offers practical approaches producers can use to make marketing and business decisions with greater confidence rather than hesitation.

Both conversations were recorded at recent industry events focused on swine livability, including the International Conference on Pig Livability and Iowa Swine Day.
