Monsanto named to FORTUNE’s list of admired companies

Company ranks first in its industry

For the third consecutive year, Monsanto has been named as one of the world’s most admired companies by FORTUNE Magazine.

FORTUNE also ranked the company first in its industry sector – chemicals; Monsanto also has a Fortune 500 rank of 197.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition from FORTUNE for the third year in a row,” said Hugh Grant, Chairman and CEO of Monsanto in a press release. “This recognition is a direct reflection of the outstanding talent at Monsanto as well as our employees’ passion for developing agricultural solutions to help our farmer customers have better harvests.”

Other accolades for Monsanto include ranking ninth on the Top 25 World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list by Great Place to Work and it was named one of Victory Media’s Military Friendly Employers for 2016.

Other agriculturally-related companies who found themselves on the list of the world’s most admired companies include:

  • John Deere – ranks 2nd in the Construction and Farm Machinery industry
  • Bunge – ranks 4th in the Food Production industry
