New report highlights collaboration trends in farm buying decisions.
Swanson Russell has released a new agriculture insights report called Winning the Farm Table, which explores how farm decision-making is evolving across the industry. The report highlights a growing trend where purchasing decisions are no longer made by a single individual but by multiple stakeholders within a farm operation.
"Farm decisions are now rarely made by one person. What we're seeing is a much more collaborative and proof-driven process where operations are weighing risk, economics, service and long-term impact together," said Andrew Warner, agribusiness lead and account director at Swanson Russell.
“Winning the Farm Table was created to help brands understand that reality and market in a way that aligns with how agricultural operations actually evaluate decisions,” said Warner.
The report explains that multiple generations are increasingly involved in farm decisions. Younger operators are bringing new ideas, technology interests, and a focus on innovation. At the same time, experienced members continue to prioritize stability, reliability, and trusted relationships.
Another key insight is the importance of dealer relationships. Farmers place high value on trust, service quality, and quick response when working with suppliers. Strong dealer support can influence purchasing decisions as much as product performance.
The report also highlights a rising demand for measurable proof. Farmers want to see clear results before making investments. Pilot programs and low-risk trials are becoming more common as they allow producers to test products before full adoption.
