Top forage producers honored at 41st Forage Superbowl awards
The 41st World Forage Analysis Superbowl, held at World Dairy Expo, showcased the best in forage production from across the United States. With 232 entries from 12 states, the event highlighted the critical role of high-quality forage in supporting livestock and dairy production.
Peterson Farm of Poplar Grove, Illinois, captured the spotlight by being named the World’s Forage Grand Champion with their entry in the Baleage category. They were awarded $2,500, sponsored by Legacy Seeds. In addition, the Grand Champion First-Time Entrant Award, sponsored by Brevant Seeds, went to Tilstock Farms of Plum City, Wisconsin, for their Alfalfa Haylage entry.
The event also recognized competitors through the Quality Counts Awards. In the Corn Silage division, Danny Krueger of Wausau, Wisconsin, took top honors with BMR Corn Silage. Sand Creek Dairy of Hastings, Michigan, received recognition in the Hay/Haylage category. These awards highlighted not only yield but also forage quality and nutrition.
Category champions represented outstanding efforts from producers nationwide. Highlights included Kendall Guither of Illinois winning Baleage, Hardrock Farms of Wyoming leading Commercial Hay, Andy Schmitt of Iowa topping Dairy Hay, Ted Peterson of Wisconsin excelling in Grass Hay, and Ciolkosz Dairy of Wisconsin securing Alfalfa Haylage honors. Other winners included Woldt Farms of Wisconsin in Mixed/Grass Haylage, John Schwittay of Wisconsin in Standard Corn Silage, and Denmar Acres of Wisconsin in BMR Corn Silage.
The 2025 event was supported by a wide range of sponsors, including Byron Seeds, Scherer Inc., Agri-King, QLF Agronomy, CROPLAN, Lallemand Animal Nutrition, and others. Together, these organizations emphasized the importance of advancing forage production and rewarding excellence.
The World Forage Analysis Superbowl continues to celebrate innovation and dedication among forage producers while recognizing their essential contributions to the U.S. agricultural industry.
