Oklahoma producers can apply for USDA value added grants through April 2026

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development office in Oklahoma has announced that applications are now open for the Value-Added Producer Grant program. The program is designed to help farmers and ranchers develop new business opportunities by creating value-added products from agricultural commodities they already produce.

The Value-Added Producer Grant supports agricultural producers who want to start or expand activities that increase the value of their products. This may include turning raw commodities into new products, improving marketing strategies, or reaching new customer markets. By supporting these efforts, the program aims to help producers strengthen their farm businesses and improve long-term income.

“President Trump is delivering the Golden Age to our Oklahoma farmers and ranchers and is supportive of programs that can increase the bottom line for our producers like the Value-Added Producer Grant,” said Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz. “I would encourage any of our local producers to consider this program and exert greater control over the world-class products they produce.”

Applications for the grant are being accepted through April 22, 2026. Producers interested in applying can review eligibility requirements, including matching fund expectations, through the USDA Value Added Producer Grant information resources. Additional support is available by contacting the USDA Rural Development Oklahoma State Office through email.

USDA Rural Development works to strengthen rural communities by investing in programs that support economic growth and essential services. These efforts include improving access to broadband internet, transportation systems, electricity, healthcare, housing, and education opportunities. Programs like the Value-Added Producer Grant help ensure that rural producers can stay competitive while adding more value to their agricultural operations.

Overall, the grant program provides Oklahoma farmers and ranchers with a chance to grow their businesses, improve marketing opportunities, and increase farm income through innovation and value-added agriculture.
