Farmers gather to explore regenerative organic practices

The 4th Annual Regenerative Organic Oats (ROO) Field Days marked a major milestone in advancing sustainable agriculture, uniting farmers, industry partners, and community leaders at Katerynych Family Farm near Richard, Saskatchewan. Hosted by Nature’s Path Organic Foods in partnership with Canadian Organic Growers (COG) and other organizations, the event highlighted four years of progress in regenerative organic farming.

Farmers from across the prairies gathered for a day dedicated to learning, collaboration, and sharing innovative ideas. The day began with a hearty organic breakfast offered by Nature’s Path, setting the stage for discussions centered on regenerative farming principles such as soil health, biodiversity, animal welfare, and social fairness.

Field demonstrations and farmer-to-farmer sessions gave attendees the opportunity to see proven practices in action. These included restorative cover cropping strategies, holistic livestock integration, soil health management techniques, and the use of innovative roller crimper technologies. Such approaches help strengthen soil, reduce inputs, and support long-term farm resilience.

The event emphasized not only the technical aspects of regenerative farming but also the importance of building a community around shared values. Farmers exchanged experiences and explored new ways of working together to create healthier soils and stronger food systems.

“ROO Field Days are a celebration of what’s possible when farmers, food brands, and environmental champions come together,” said Jyoti Stephens, VP Mission & Strategy at Nature’s Path. “We’re not just growing oats—we’re growing a movement toward a more sustainable and resilient food system.”

By combining education, hands-on demonstrations, and collaborative dialogue, the 2025 ROO Field Days reinforced the growing momentum behind regenerative agriculture. Events like these continue to inspire farmers across North America to adopt practices that improve the land, support communities, and ensure a sustainable future for farming.
