Smart robotic dogs help farms protect land crops and assets safely

Bayer is using drone dog smart technology on some of its agriculture properties in Hawaii.   According to Ryan Hodgens, National Sales Director, Asylon Robotics, says this should not be so surprising.  He argues that for many centuries, dogs have helped protect farms and animals. Today, agriculture is seeing a modern upgrade with robotic security dogs that support farm safety using advanced technology.

Large agricultural sites often face serious risks such as trespassing, property damage, wildlife threats, and fire hazards. Monitoring such vast areas using only human security teams can be expensive and difficult, especially during night hours and staff shortages.

Robotic security dogs are designed to patrol rough terrain and wide farm areas without human fatigue. These smart machines are equipped with thermal cameras, high-definition zoom lenses, and artificial intelligence systems that help detect unusual activity. They can send live videos to security teams, allowing quick action when needed.

These robots operate through cloud systems, meaning security staff can control and monitor them remotely. When not on duty, the robotic dog returns to a protected charging unit that keeps it ready for the next patrol.

By combining robotic patrols with human teams, farms can conduct more frequent monitoring while reducing the need for vehicle patrols. This lowers fuel use, cuts emissions, improves worker safety, and reduces overall security costs.

Another major benefit is recorded video footage. This stored data helps farms review incidents, improve safety planning, and meet future audit requirements.

Robotic security dogs do not replace people. Instead, they act as reliable assistants, allowing human staff to focus on important tasks while technology handles routine patrols.

As agriculture continues to adopt smart solutions, robotic security dogs are becoming an important tool in protecting crops, land, and people.
