Wilson Farms becomes Supreme Champion Sponsor for Draft Horse Fans

Wilson Farms Grain has been announced as the Supreme Champion Sponsor of the Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series for the 2026 season. This partnership connects one of Eastern Ontario’s leading grain logistics enterprises with one of the province’s most respected draft horse competitions.

Known for its championship Percheron horses, Wilson Farms has grown into a vertically integrated agricultural business with strong global connections. The company links Canadian grain producers with international buyers across Europe, North America, and other regions. This sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment to supporting agriculture at both local and international levels.

“At Wilson Farms, we operate with one standard,” said Kevin Wilson. “Whether we are coordinating cross-border logistics, expanding international market access, or hitching our horses, the expectation is the same—precision, integrity, and performance at the highest level. Powering the Ontario Four is a natural extension of that standard”

The business operates grain elevators in Vankleek Hill, Renfrew, and Prescott, helping move Canadian commodities efficiently to global markets. Its infrastructure includes a large logistics fleet, a coast-to-coast brokerage network, and active trade operations throughout Canada and the United States. Company leadership explains that each shipment represents an opportunity for Canadian agriculture and supports rural economic growth.

The Ontario Four Horse Hitch Series, founded in 2022, has quickly become a major event for draft horse enthusiasts. Nearly 40 competing hitches take part each year, and the top 10-point earners qualify for the finals. The championship events are scheduled to be hosted at the historic Carp Fairgrounds in 2026 and 2027.

Organizers say the partnership strengthens the series by aligning it with a business that understands scale, infrastructure, and long-term investment in agriculture. The sponsorship also highlights the continuing connection between modern farming operations and agricultural heritage.

“The supreme champion title represents the highest level of achievement in our series,” said Sarah Robinson, Director of the Ontario Four. “Partnering with Wilson Farms aligns us with an enterprise that understands infrastructure, scale, and excellence. This is not simply sponsorship — it is a shared commitment to strengthening Ontario agriculture.”

The Wilson family’s roots in agriculture trace back to machinery sales and a strong interest in drafting horses. Over time, the enterprise has expanded into grain marketing, commodity trading, logistics, beef cattle production, and management of a large Percheron herd across Ontario and the U.S. Midwest.

As the 2026 season begins, the partnership symbolizes a blend of tradition and innovation. By supporting the Ontario Four, Wilson Farms reinforces its role in advancing agriculture while preserving the heritage that continues to shape rural communities across Ontario.
