Canola Council agronomy specialist Dan Orchard has tips for growers looking to do fall weed control.

Post harvest weed control is an ideal time to control fall annual weeds and perennial weeds. These weeds are often in a rosette providing more leaf area to be targeted during application. Perennials are also moving sugars to the roots allowing herbicides to be translocated to the roots.

The dry fall conditions allow for easy field travel - if fields are wet in the spring a burnoff can often be delayed.
