New soy and pea protein products support food innovation and demand
ADM has introduced a new range of plant-based protein products in North America to meet the rising demand for diverse and nutritious protein options. The company continues to strengthen its position in protein innovation by offering improved ingredient solutions for food manufacturers.
Consumers are increasingly looking for more protein choices that match their dietary needs and health goals. Studies show that many people want to increase protein intake and prefer to obtain it from varied sources. Plant-based proteins, especially soy and pea, are becoming important due to their flexibility, strong nutrition, and ability to be used in many food products.
"Protein is one of the most dynamic areas of nutrition, with consumers now asking for more variety, functionality and choices than ever before," said Greg Dodson, Vice President, Protein, North America, ADM. "With new ingredient introductions and expanding capabilities in facilities across the globe, ADM is uniquely positioned to not only meet that demand at scale, but to also help shape the future of protein innovation."
In North America, ADM has launched several new protein ingredients designed to improve food quality and efficiency. These include ProFam 883 and ProFam 894, which are soy protein isolates known for their clean taste, smooth texture, and suitability for beverages and dairy alternatives like yogurt.
ADM also introduced Arcon IH, Arcon SB, and Arcon 412, which are soy protein concentrates. These ingredients help improve texture, maintain juiciness, and reduce costs in meat products such as sausages, ham, deli meats, and chicken nuggets. They support both traditional and blended food products.
Another addition is pea flour, which does not require allergen labeling and offers a neutral taste and color. It is also gluten-free and non-GMO, making it a strong option for baked goods, coatings, and cereals. It contains fiber and supports healthier food formulations.
"By expanding our protein portfolio, we're giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications," said Tony Payne, Senior Director, Creation, Design, and Development, ADM. "This is about delivering choice and giving consumers access to protein sources that are backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation.
ADM’s ongoing work in plant protein development focuses on delivering ingredients that improve taste, texture, and nutritional value. These innovations support a wide range of applications including beverages, snacks, bakery products, and alternative proteins.
With a long history in plant-based protein, ADM continues to help food producers create better products while meeting changing consumer expectations in North America.
