BC Cherry Association elects 2026 board

2025 was a bounceback year, with $123 million in cherry exports from British Columbia. The top three destinations were:  United States, China and South Korea.

These returns were welcomed after a tough 2024, when a deep freeze made buds unviable, resulting in a small crop.

The recent March 7, 2026 annual general meeting in Kelowna attracted a record crowd of 160 people.

The 2026 board of directors were elected as follows:
President - Sukhpaul Bal, Valley Orchards by acclamation
Vice President - David A. Geen, Jealous Fruits by acclamation
Secretary - Graem Nelson by acclamation
Treasurer - Erin Carlson, Carcajou Fruit Company, and Savanna Ridge Orchard, by acclamation

Directors-at-Large:

  • Harman Bahniwal, Krazy Cherry Fruit Company
  • Gino Boensch, Consolidated Fruit Packers
