Canada-Germany Joint Statement

We met on October 18, 2026, for a bilateral exchange on the occasion of the G7 Agriculture Ministers' Meeting in Paris.

Both sides reaffirm their friendly relations and agree to further deepen their fruitful, constructive, and trusting cooperation in the agricultural and food sectors.

Both sides, building on the successful cooperation in various research areas, will jointly explore further possible areas for deepening cooperation, particularly in the fields of bioeconomics and trade in forest and agricultural products.

Both sides commit to free and rules-based trade within the framework of the CETA agreement. Both sides intend to leverage the opportunities for expanding trade relations in the agricultural and food sector to the mutual benefit of both countries."
