Collaboration improves measurement tools and boosts farmer access to incentives
CIBO Technologies and Nutrien announced a strategic collaboration to strengthen sustainable agriculture programs across the American Midwest.
The partnership focuses on improving how environmental and production outcomes are measured and reported while expanding farmer access to public and private incentives.
Through this collaboration, CIBO provides measurement, reporting, and verification services that support Nutrien’s sustainability programs. These services help farmers track key outcomes such as crop performance, nutrient use efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, and soil health. The goal is to ensure results are accurate, reliable, and scalable across large farming regions.

"Working with CIBO, we have a trusted provider with the systems and technology in place to accurately measure production and environmental outcomes at scale, and to account for and reward farmers for their sustainability efforts."
Nutrien engages more than 3.7 million acres worldwide in its sustainable agriculture programs, including hundreds of thousands of acres in the Midwest. These programs help farmers improve input efficiency while delivering trusted results for supply chain partners with sustainability goals.
CIBO’s data and analytics platform connects fragmented farm data and applies advanced modeling and artificial intelligence. This approach reduces reporting work for farmers while providing clear insights into long-term environmental and economic benefits.
The partnership also supports farmers seeking funding through federal conservation programs. Companies increasingly encourage farmers to access support from the Environmental Quality Incentives Program and the Conservation Stewardship Program. For fiscal year 2025, CIBO supports a large share of applications nationwide, helping submit an estimated $300 million in EQIP requests.
By working together, Nutrien and CIBO combine public funding with private incentives. Nutrien’s retail agronomists and advisors assist farmers in navigating conservation programs while aligning sustainability goals with real farm needs.
