Examining the Top Features of the John Deere 440E

When baling is on your to-do list, you want a baler that works quickly and efficiently. Furthermore, it’s important to have one that is designed to stand the test of time. For this reason, you may want to consider investing in the John Deere 440E. This round baler makes tight 4’x4’ bales and comes with exclusive DiamondTough™ triple weave belts.

Vertical Forming Chamber
This baler has a vertical forming chamber that is specifically designed to maintain uniform bale density. As hay enters the forming chamber, belts immediately turn it into a tight, dense core. Hay then feeds between the bale and the lower gate roll. It is then tightly compressed into smooth, dense layers as it enters the bale itself. The idler arm rises with bale growth, which forces oil from the hydraulic cylinder through a pressure-relief valve to maintain uniform bale density.

DiamondTough Belts
The 7-inch-wide diamond-tread belt design ensures fast bale starts and grips the bale to prevent slippage and reduce chaffing. The treads are self-cleaning as well to reduce carryover, and the belts are staggered to reduce the loss of fine material. The staggered belt roll design enables loose hay under or behind the belts to be returned to the pickup and into the baler. This prevents buildup at the front of the baler, which could potentially result in hay loss.

BaleTrak Pro Monitor
With the BaleTrak™ Pro monitor, operators have the automatic electric tie option and the Edge-to-Edge option on the John Deere 440E. This monitor is designed to sound an alarm for near-full, full or oversized bales.
