Federal agriculture committee adds two Liberals

With a Liberal majority in the House of Commons, the constitution of committees has changed. The Standing Committee for Agriculture and Agri-Food now consists of seven Liberals, four Conservatives and one Bloc Québecois MP. 

New members are Kent MacDonald, Cardigan, PEI and Giovanna Mingarelli, Prescott-Russell-Cumberland, Ontario. One of their first engagements was listening to farm associations and growers on future needs for business risk management.

Vice-chairs:  John Barlow, Conservative and Sébastien Lemire, Bloc Québécois
