Grasshoppers Starting To Hatch - Crop Pest Update

Manitoba Agriculture says flea beetles are starting to feed more intensively, noting foliar applications of insecticides have occurred.

Some insecticide applications have occurred for cutworms, but it seems to be limited to a few fields so far. Some wireworm damage to cereals was also reported this week.

Young grasshoppers are being noticed, but hatch is in the early stages.

Meanwhile, herbicide spraying has been challenging in the past week due to frost, and the extreme heat we're seeing now will also create some challenges.
