Increased Exports on the Horizon for Grand Falls Company

Grand Falls, NB – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency - The global marketplace offers excellent opportunities for Atlantic Canadian companies to export their products and create wealth here at home. Companies that innovate are able to boost productivity, increase exports, and stay ahead of their competition, while securing well-paying jobs in their communities. Adopting new technologies fuels economic growth, ensuring long-term prosperity for the region.

To this end, Émile Sénéchal et Fils Ltd is modernizing its Grand Falls plant with new technology by adding a new glue and mesh applicator to its 50-pound potato bag production line. This will allow the company to meet current client needs, achieve growth objectives, and further develop its U.S. client base.

The Government of Canada, through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), is providing a repayable contribution of $237,500 for this project.

TJ Harvey, MP for Tobique-Mactaquac, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for ACOA, made the announcement today.

Economic growth and the creation of good jobs for Atlantic Canadians require innovation and diversification. Support for this project is one way the Government of Canada is working to support businesses to scale-up, increase productivity and participate in the innovation economy. Projects like this also contribute to the Atlantic Growth Strategy outcome of long-term economic prosperity in the region.
