Case IH has announced the release of a first-of-its-kind yield mapping technology for its new WD6 windrower series.
Called Relative Yield Technology, the feature allows hay producers to view a map of yield variations in real time at harvest.
“We’ve taken something that in the past has been kind of invisible or a little bit harder to to make tangible, and made it visible for our producers,” said Ryan Kau, Case IH segment lead for hay and forage.
This feature calculates the relative yield based on header drive pressure and compensates for ground speed to track hay production accurately.
Kau said Relative Yield Technology allows producers to look at high, low and average areas in a field to see where productivity could be increased.
“You can even make decision changes in between cuttings,” said Kau.
“It’ll give you that data.”
Data is uploaded and accessed via Case IH’s FieldOps hub so that individual farms, fields and production years can be reviewed by an operator to make harvest decisions in real time or for future crop years.
