New Export Facility Along St Lawrence Seaway

In a significant stride towards global agricultural trade, the DeLong Co. Agricultural Maritime Export Facility has recently commenced operations, offering Wisconsin farmers access to international markets. This cutting-edge facility, which represents one of the largest investments in Great Lakes export infrastructure in half a century, has already become a beacon of hope for farmers across the state.

The facility in Wisconsin will transform the agricultural landscape by transporting Dried Distillers Grains, a valuable co-product of ethanol production. Farmers are excited about the opportunity, as it creates a global market for their crop and opens doors to untapped regions beyond the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Export facilities benefit corn growers by offering an outlet for their crop and allowing ethanol plants to find profitable markets for distillers' grains. Expanding international trade networks helps farmers secure better prices for their produce. Hughes emphasizes the importance of exports, as they prevent price plummeting and ensure the agricultural sector's continued growth.

The DeLong Co. export facility in Wisconsin aims to boost its presence in Western Europe and Northern Africa, benefiting farmers and the economy. Governor Tony Evers lauds the achievement, emphasizing the importance of supporting farmers and ensuring smooth transportation of their products.

As Wisconsin battles a harsh drought, the facility's success hinges on much-needed rain. Hughes expresses optimism, hoping that nature will provide the necessary downpour for a bountiful harvest. Acknowledging the challenges faced by farmers due to the dry spell, he eagerly awaits the positive impact the export facility will have on Wisconsin agriculture.

The opening of the DeLong Co. Agricultural Maritime Export Facility marks a turning point for Wisconsin's farming community. By diversifying markets, increasing prices, and addressing infrastructure needs, this groundbreaking initiative paves the way for a more prosperous future for farmers in the state.
