Ohio Farm Vandalism: 10,000 Minks Still on the Loose

Around 10,000 minks are still on the loose after being released from a farm in Ohio by unidentified vandals in early April. The minks, which were being raised for their fur, have caused concern among local authorities as they pose a risk to both humans and other wildlife in the area.

Efforts to contain the escaped minks have been challenging, with some already spotted miles away from the farm. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has warned people not to approach the minks and to report any sightings immediately.

The incident has raised concerns about animal welfare, with animal rights activists speaking out against the fur industry and the conditions in which the minks were being kept. Minks are known to suffer in captivity, with their small, cramped cages leading to high levels of stress and aggression.

The authorities are still investigating the vandalism incident, and anyone with information is urged to come forward. Meanwhile, efforts to recapture the escaped minks continue, with traps and bait being set up to try and lure them back to captivity.
