Sabanto added autonomous support for row crop planters equipped with the Precision Planting Gen 3 20/20 system for the spring 2027 growing season. When the Sabanto Autonomy System is retrofitted to a tractor, growers can plant without an operator in the tractor’s seat and remotely monitor their machine.
Sabanto states that smaller equipment that runs longer has an advantage over bigger, more expensive iron. A Sabanto-retrofitted tractor is designed to let the farmer use existing trusted planter technology to make autonomous planting practical and affordable.
“Growers told us the tractor driving itself wasn’t the hard part of planting. Trusting the planter without someone watching it was,” said Craig Rupp, founder and CEO of Sabanto. “This gives them that confidence and peace of mind with the equipment they already trust.”
