Update Your Veggie Insect Management Tools in 2026

Incipio, Vertento and Zivalgo. This will be the first growing season when vegetable growers can use a new class of foliar insecticides by Syngenta under the commercial names Incipio, Vertento and Zivalgo. These all have the same active ingredient called isocycloseram in IRAC Group 30, which means they kill insects the same way, so they shouldn’t be rotated with other Group 30 insecticides. This class is relatively new on the market; it is a great option for insecticide resistance management by rotating them with older chemistries to prevent resistance.

Lumiverd. Corteva added onions and cucurbits to the Lumiverd (active ingredient spinosad) label for onion maggot and seedcorn maggot management. This is a seed treatment that can be used by organic growers. Corteva reports Lumiverd is offered by seed treatment companies including Germain’s, Kamterter, Nunhem’s, Seed Dynamics and Skagit Seed Services.

Avaunt eVo. FMC expanded the label for Avaunt eVo (active ingredient indoxacarb) to include cucumber beetle suppression in cucurbits.

Beyond these product updates, please follow the new requirements regarding site-specific restrictions for pesticides by going to EPA’s Bulletins Live! Two website. “Bulletins Live! Two resources from Michigan State University Extension” is a recent Michigan State University Extension article to help navigate this process.
