USDA Export Sales Report Release

Wheat:  Net sales for the 2014/2015 marketing year, which began June 1, totaled 570,100 metric tons.  Increases reported for Brazil (167,600 MT), Mexico (100,100 MT), Nigeria (68,800 MT), Japan (53,900 MT), and Indonesia (48,300 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (74,600 MT) and Trinidad (2,700 MT).  A total of 1,550,500 MT in sales were carried over from the 2013/2014 marketing year, which ended May 31.  Exports for the period ending May 31 of 150,400 MT brought accumulated exports to 30,113,000 MT, up 14 percent from the prior year’s total of 26,348,100 MT.  The primary destinations were Brazil (36,700 MT), Mexico (27,900 MT), Colombia (26,700 MT), Nigeria (25,600 MT), and Venezuela (21,700 MT).  Exports for June 1-5 totaled 328,500 MT, with Brazil (64,100 MT), Japan (55,100 MT), Indonesia (47,300 MT), Taiwan (30,300 MT), and South Korea (28,500 MT) being the primary destinations.

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales ended the year totaling 19,000 MT and were carried over to 2014/2015, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  For 2013/2014, exports for own account ended the year at 37,500 MT and were carried over to 2014/2015, all Italy.   For 2014/2015, exports for own account to Italy totaling 1,500 MT were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 36,100 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 409,700 MT for 2013/2014 were down 26 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (183,900 MT, including 79,100 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 24,100 MT), Egypt (154,000 MT, including 20,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (120,500 MT), Vietnam (55,300 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 4,700 MT), and Colombia (55,000 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 28,500 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (241,800 MT), Guatemala (11,200 MT), and South Korea (1,200 MT).  Net sales of 105,500 MT for 2014/2015 were reported primarily for unknown destinations (100,400 MT) and Nicaragua (5,000 MT).  Exports of 1,070,500 MT were down 8 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (318,500 MT), Mexico (197,700 MT), Egypt (119,800 MT), Taiwan (83,800 MT), Colombia (71,300 MT), South Korea (66,900 MT), and Vietnam (55,300 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 123,000 MT, all South Korea.

Barley:  Net sales for the 2014/2015 marketing year, which began June 1, totaled 12,600 MT and were for Japan.  A total of 1,700 MT in sales were carried over from the 2013/2014 marketing year, which ended May 31.  Exports for the period ending May 31 of 800 MT brought accumulated exports to 176,300 MT, up 33 percent from the prior year’s total of 132,700 MT.  Exports for June 1-5 totaled 13,400 MT, all Japan.

Sorghum: Net sales of 117,000 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were for China (61,000 MT, including 58,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and deceases of 100 MT), unknown destinations (47,900 MT), and Japan (8,100 MT, switched from unknown destinations).  Exports of 65,900 MT were reported to China (57,900 MT) and Japan (8,000 MT).

Rice: Net sales of 33,600 MT for 2013/2014 were down 7 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Haiti (18,200 MT), El Salvador (4,000 MT), Mexico (3,900 MT), Saudi Arabia (2,100 MT), and Canada (1,800 MT).  Net sales of 300 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Jordan.  Exports of 89,900 MT were up 27 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (29,000 MT), Colombia (28,400 MT), Japan (13,300 MT), Saudi Arabia (10,700 MT), and Canada (3,600 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 86,700 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Indonesia (46,500 MT, including 25,300 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (41,500 MT), Taiwan (14,800 MT), Vietnam (9,800 MT) and the Philippines (9,200 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (40,300 MT).  Net sales of 403,300 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for China (172,000 MT), unknown destinations (119,700 MT), Japan (27,400 MT), and Canada (27,200 MT).  Exports of 147,100 MT were down 31 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (56,900 MT), Indonesia (35,600 MT), Japan (24,100 MT), Venezuela (11,100 MT), and Taiwan (6,800 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 110,500 MT, all China.  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 716,000 MT, and are for China (551,000 MT), Egypt (120,000 MT), and Mexico (45,000 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 59,500 MT for 2013/2014 were down 10 percent from the previous week and 43 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (16,600 MT), Japan (7,900 MT, including 6,200 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Dominican Republic (6,900 MT, including 6,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 300 MT), Sri Lanka (6,300 MT), unknown destinations (6,100 MT), Jamaica (5,000 MT), and El Salvador (4,400 MT, including 3,200 MT switched from Guatemala).  Decreases were reported for Guatemala (3,700 MT).  Net sales of 10,800 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for Indonesia (10,000 MT) and unknown destinations (500 MT).  Exports of 166,300 MT were up 16 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (54,100 MT), Venezuela (25,000 MT), Canada (16,800 MT), the Dominican Republic (16,700 MT), El Salvador (12,100 MT), and Guatemala (11,500 MT).

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 71,800 MT for 2013/2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (40,000 MT), Morocco (15,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (11,000 MT), Jamaica (3,500 MT), and Mexico (1,000 MT).  Exports of 4,500 MT were down 34 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (3,300 MT), Nicaragua (600 MT), Canada (200 MT), Trinidad (100 MT), and Australia (100 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales 40,800 RB for 2013/2014 were down 69 percent from the previous week and 72 percent the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (8,300 RB), Taiwan (5,800 RB), Turkey (5,500 RB), Peru (3,600 RB), Thailand (2,700 RB, including 100 RB switched from Japan and decreases of 200 RB), and Pakistan (2,700 RB).  Decreases were reported for El Salvador (1,200 RB).  Net sales of 74,700 RB for 2014/2015 were reported for Mexico (36,200 RB), Turkey (14,900 RB), and Venezuela (4,400 RB).  Decreases were reported for El Salvador (200 RB).  Exports of 182,700 RB were up 9 percent from the previous week, but down 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Turkey (56,000 RB), China (41,300 RB), Mexico (25,000 RB), Thailand (14,000 RB), and Indonesia (10,000 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 1,700 RB for 2013/2014 were down 44 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for India (1,000 RB), Egypt (1,000 RB), Thailand (100 RB), and Indonesia (100 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Belgium (200 RB), Colombia (100 RB), and Japan (100 RB).  Exports of 7,000 RB were primarily to China (4,200 RB), Thailand (1,900 RB), Pakistan (400 RB), and India (300 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, options were exercised to export 600 RB to Malaysia from the United States, switched from unknown destinations.  Decreases totaling 100 RB were reported for unknown destinations.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 61,700 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 457,900 pieces, all whole cattle hides, reported for 2014 were up 37 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (186,100 pieces), South Korea (145,700 pieces), Mexico (59,100 pieces), Taiwan (34,300 pieces), and Hong Kong (10,300 pieces).  Decreases were reported for Indonesia (1,900 pieces).  Exports of 516,100 pieces were up 63 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports totaled 511,800 pieces, with the primary destinations being China (319,000 pieces), South Korea (91,800 pieces), Taiwan (49,300 pieces), Mexico (19,700 pieces), and Thailand (12,100 pieces).

Net sales of 132,500 wet blues for 2014 were reported for China (31,300 unsplit and 3,900 grain splits), Mexico (18,300 unsplit and 9,900 grain splits), Taiwan (15,700 unsplit and 2,600 grain splits), and Italy (17,200 grain splits).  Exports of 140,600 wet blues were primarily to China (29,500 unsplit and 6,000 grain splits), Italy (24,700 unsplit and 8,400 grain splits), Vietnam (15,200 unsplit and 3,700 grain splits), and Mexico (12,000 grain splits and 6,000 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 30,700 pounds for 2014 resulted as increases for South Korea (33,800 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (1,600 pounds) and China (1,500 pounds).  Exports of 433,500 pounds were reported to South Korea (298,600 pounds), Hong Kong (92,400 pounds), and China (42,500 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 6,700 MT for 2014 were down 60 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Hong Kong (3,000 MT), Canada (1,400 MT), Taiwan (1,300 MT), Mexico (1,200 MT), and South Korea (1,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Japan (1,900 MT).  Exports of 14,400 MT were up 20 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (4,400 MT), Hong Kong (2,500 MT), Mexico (2,000 MT), South Korea (1,900 MT), and Canada (1,900 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 8,500 MT for 2014 were down 35 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Canada (3,500 MT), Japan (2,000 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), South Korea (300 MT), and the Philippines (200 MT).  Exports of 10,400 MT were up 12 percent from the previous and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (4,000 MT), Japan (1,800 MT), Canada (1,100 MT), South Korea (1,100 MT), and Hong Kong (900 MT).
