USDA Trade Mission Expands Opportunities for U.S. Agricultural Exports to Indonesia

The U.S. Department of Agriculture will lead a trade mission to Jakarta, Indonesia next week to expand market access, boost American agricultural exports, and take advantage of the new opportunities created by the U.S.-Indonesia Agreement on Reciprocal Trade

Led by Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Luke J. Lindberg, the mission is scheduled for Feb. 2 through 6, 2026, and includes 41 agribusinesses, trade organizations and representatives from three state departments of agriculture.

“This mission is a chance for us to turn the opportunities of the landmark Indonesia trade deal into real sales for American farmers, ranchers and producers,” said Under Secretary Lindberg. “This trip puts American exporters face-to-face with willing buyers in one of Southeast Asia’s largest and fastest-growing markets, to meet the region’s increasing demands for high-quality U.S. products – boosting rural economies, lowering the trade deficit, and keeping American agriculture globally competitive.”

Indonesia is the world’s fourth-largest country by population, with a rapidly growing middle class. It is also a top market for halal dairy and beef products, soybeans, wheat, feed ingredients, and consumer‑oriented goods. The landmark U.S.–Indonesia Agreement on Reciprocal Trade expands opportunities for American farmers, ranchers, and producers by eliminating tariffs on nearly all U.S. agricultural exports and reducing longstanding non‑tariff barriers in this critical market.
