Heavy rain and snow from late season storms is slowing down crop hail damage adjustments.
The president of the Canadian Crop Hail Association, Rick Omelchenko, is asking farmers to be patient and leave adequate check-strips for adjusters.
He says an adequate check strip for crop damage is at least 20 by 30 feet in the four corners and in the middle of the field.
But he suggests farmers check with their hail insurance company.
He says fields have had heavy rain and snow this fall, delaying harvest and adjusters.
Omelchenko says September claims are about two-thirds complete.
