Wheat Growers Welcome Hon. Marie-Claude Bibeau as new Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food

Calgary, AB —  The Western Canadian Wheat Growers would like to welcome the new Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Hon. Marie-Claude Bibeau. “We look forward to continuing the strong relationship that the Wheat Growers have had with the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and department officials. Agriculture is a strong part of the Canadian economy, and we see continued growth through global trade opportunities,” said Levi Wood, President.

Exports to current and new foreign markets is a key factor for sustaining and growing the Canadian agricultural economy. The signing of the CPTPP agreement, CETA, USMCA and possible growth in China opens up many new markets for wheat exports.

“On behalf of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers, I would like to thank the Hon. Lawrence MacAulay for the role that he has played with the agriculture community. We wish him well as the new Minister of Veteran Affairs,” stated Jim Wickett, Chair.
