100 Cattle Perish in Woodstock Barn Fire

A barn fire near Woodstock, Ont. has claimed about 100 cattle overnight.

Fire crews were called to the scene at approximately 2 a.m. – the barn was fully engulfed when emergency responders arrived.  The barn was located on Clarke Road – Southwest of Oxford Township. Clark road is expected to remain closed for part of Monday morning as fire crews continue to battle the blaze.

No family members were injured, but approximately 100 cattle died in the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown, but an investigation has been launched.

Damages and losses have not been calculated at this time.
