Farmers, manufacturers and people with an interest in agriculture will come together at the Tradex Exhibition Centre located at the Abbotsford Airport to take in the 17th annual Pacific Agriculture Show.

Since its inception in 1998, the show will feature over 250 vendors including Committed Ag Supply, DuPont Canada, Handlers Equipment Ltd., and Kuhn North America in an effort to supply the visitors with the latest and newest innovations in equipment and technology to improve the efficiency of their farming operations.

The Lower Mainland Horticulture Improvement Association (LMHIA) will provide a Grower’s Short Course where they’ll discuss issues involved with fruits and vegetables, pesticides, and agricultural economics.

There will also be a two-day Agri-Energy & Waste Management forum. Starting on January 30th, visitors will be able to educate themselves on how to manage waste, reduce cost, and diversify income. They’ll also be able to visit BC’s newest anaerobic digester.

Anaerobic digesters are used to break down biodegradable material to produce things like natural gas or transportation fuels.

Other topics covered will include environmental farm plans, nutrient and waste management, and pyrolysis opportunities and challenges.
