Funding aids local healthcare projects, enhancing rural services

Celebrating its commitment to rural communities, Hensall Co-op has proudly unveiled the winners of its fourth annual Strong Communities Initiative. This program aims to impact positively the rural landscapes of Ontario by enhancing local healthcare services through substantial financial grants.

This year, two main recipients were chosen - the Palmerston and District Hospital Foundation and the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation.

Each foundation receives $10,000 to advance local healthcare services; funds in Palmerston will go towards an MRI machine, while Clinton will invest in an ophthalmic chair for post-surgical eye care.

"We received many applications showcasing the needs of rural communities. Hensall Co-op is honoured to support organizations that are essential to our communities," remarked Brad Chandler, CEO of Hensall Co-op.

In addition to these primary grants, Hensall Co-op also extended financial assistance to five other organizations, funding projects ranging from community center enhancements to new medical equipment for regional hospitals.

Established in 1937, Hensall Co-op remains a cornerstone of Canadian agriculture, supporting not only local farmers but also fostering global connections across 45 countries. Its dedication to community support underscores its broader mission to enhance rural vitality sustainably.
