6 Off-Farm Jobs For Farm Animals

Detection

Detection

Dogs aren’t the only animals capable of using their noses to find things.

In 1992, the New Orleans Police Department hired Tootsie, a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, to detect cocaine on potential suspects.

In 1993, the Portland Police enlisted the help of a pig named Harley to find marijuana, heroin and cocaine.

Pigs are also used to find truffles, which can be buried up to 25 feet underground.
