Chocolate Milk

Chocolate Milk

Chocolate milk’s origins can be traced back to 17th century Ireland. During a trip to Jamaica, Hans Sloane, an Irish doctor, discovered that locals mixed cacao into drinking water. Unimpressed by its taste, Sloane decided to try mixing chocolate with milk.

By 1750, a grocer named Nicholas Sanders claimed to be selling Sloane’s chocolate milk recipe as a medicinal elixir.
