Global equipment maker grows dealer and service network across the Dakotas

Claas, a global agricultural equipment company, is expanding its operations in the Midwest to better serve farmers and ranchers. Although the brand is not always part of common “red or green” equipment conversations, it has steadily increased its presence and support across North America.

For more than 25 years, Omaha, Nebraska, has served as the company’s North American headquarters. Building on this base, Claas is now extending its reach northward by adding new service and dealership locations in the Dakotas. This move aims to bring equipment, parts, and technical help closer to farmers when they need it most.

The expansion is being carried out in partnership with GenAg, an established equipment dealer with headquarters in Manitoba. GenAg focuses on helping farmers improve efficiency and profitability by offering a range of modern agricultural machines and solutions.

With this partnership, Claas plans to open a service facility in Minot, North Dakota, and dealerships in Bismarck, North Dakota, and Aberdeen, South Dakota.

These new locations will offer a wide lineup of Claas equipment, including combines, tractors, forage harvesters, balers, hay tools, and smart farming systems such as Claas Connect. The goal is to give local farmers easier access to high-quality machinery, reliable service, and timely parts support.

The Dakotas facilities will add to Claas’ growing footprint in the upper Midwest. The company already supports farmers through locations in Devils Lake and Buffalo in North Dakota, as well as Mitchell in South Dakota. Together, these centers are designed to ensure strong regional coverage.

Claas describes itself as a farmer-focused company rather than a household name. Family-owned for six generations, the company emphasizes long-term commitment to agriculture, land stewardship, and trust. Supporting farmers during critical seasons such as harvest remains a top priority.
