DuPont opened its doors to the company’s second innovation centre in the United States. The Johnston Innovation Centre located in Iowa, will focus on innovation and scientific technology. The facility will be home to the company’s latest technology to address world issues such as food security and energy sufficiency.

“The key is to quickly connect our integrated science to the market. The Innovation Centers enable DuPont to harness its global science capabilities to create local solutions that are tailored to meet the most pressing market needs. In just two years, we have generated more than 225 active projects from this model,” said Ellen Kullman Chair and Chief Executive Officer for DuPont.

The building of the new facility will begin fall 2013 and is anticipated to create 100 new jobs in the Des Moines area. The Iowa centre is the 12th Innovation Centre for DuPont - other country locations include Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, India, Brazil, Mexico, Russia and Switzerland.
