Merchant Ag adds embedded AI to improve retail efficiency and margins

Artificial intelligence is quickly becoming a practical tool in agriculture, moving beyond discussion and into daily operations. EverAg has introduced a major upgrade to its Merchant Ag platform by embedding AI directly into ag retail workflows. This approach focuses on making everyday tasks faster, easier, and more accurate for retail teams.

Across industries, global spending on AI is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years. Businesses are turning to intelligent systems to improve efficiency, manage labor shortages, and use data more effectively. Ag retailers are facing similar challenges, including tight margins, supply chain disruptions, and rising customer expectations.

“AI adoption in agriculture is accelerating, but the real impact comes from how it is applied,” said Alan Brady, VP of Business Management Solutions at Ever.Ag. “By embedding intelligence into ag retail workflows, teams can reduce manual effort, move faster, and make better decisions as part of their daily work.”

Instead of offering a separate AI tool or chatbot, EverAg has built intelligence directly into the Merchant Ag system. This allows employees to receive real-time guidance while completing their daily tasks. Users can quickly access information about pricing, inventory levels, customer activity, and system processes without leaving their workflow.

This embedded support reduces manual effort and saves time. It also helps new employees learn about the system faster and improves consistency across teams and locations. By keeping knowledge within the platform, retailers no longer depend on a single individual for key information.

In addition to workflow support, Merchant Ag now includes predictive inventory intelligence. Using machine learning and analytics, the system can forecast product demand, identify slow-moving inventory, and flag potential risks. It can also suggest actions such as adjusting purchasing plans, transferring products between locations, or launching promotions to protect profitability.

These insights are delivered directly inside the platform, eliminating the need for external analysis tools. As a result, retailers can make faster decisions, reduce losses, prevent stockouts, and manage seasonal changes more effectively.

Research shows that applied AI solutions can improve profit margins and increase returns on existing technology investments. EverAg’s strategy reflects this practical approach. By embedding AI into core workflows, the company is helping ag retailers operate more efficiently today while preparing for future growth.
