The first season of the Canadian reality dating show Farming For Love is still airing new episodes and Bell Media is already casting for a second season.

The show, based on the show The Farmer Wants a Wife, sees multiple B.C. farmers open their farms and hearts to Canadian urban singles in the hopes of finding a partner.

“On top of navigating an unfamiliar environment, (the singles) will be faced with a series of challenges, group activities, and intimate one-on-one dates with the ultimate goal of finding their one true love,” Bell Media says.

Season two of Farming For Love will feature four farmers.

As of June 20, the show’s promotional page lists six potential farmers:

Alex is a 23-year-old dairy farmer from Agassiz, B.C.

He’s looking for a woman for a long-term relationship.

“I’d like to be married or with someone I plan on marrying,” he says in a farmer bio. “Together we’d live on or near the farm, and I would continue my full-time work on the dairy.”

Jessica is a 30-year-old fruit farmer and naturopathic doctor from Maple Ridge, B.C.

She’s interested in finding a man who is into fitness, farming and faith the way she is.

“I value my spirituality and so being able to connect on a faith level is so important to me. It makes me feel like we'd be such a good team if we at least had a Christian foundation there,” her farmer bio says.

Kirkland is a 35-year-old rancher and former rodeo champion from Rosedale, B.C.

He’s interested in finding a man to join him on the farm.

“They need to be able to challenge me and keep up with my busy lifestyle,” he says in his farmer bio. “Previous partners have said country life is slow, but in actuality, life here on the farm is quite busy. In fact, most just can’t keep up.”

Erin is a 34-year-old soil-to-shelf dairy farmer from Creston, B.C.

The second-generation producer is searching for a man to share her life with and potentially start a family.

“The most important thing I’m looking for in a partner is someone who’s supportive of my passion and work and keen to take this wild ride of dairy farm life with me,” her online biography reads.

Mischa is a fourth-generation beekeeper and orchardist from Lillooet, B.C.

The 32-year-old is looking for a woman to join him on the farm to start a family and grow the business.

“I’d want to try out the relationship for at least three years, for sure,” he says in a Q&A. So maybe around 35 years old I’d like to become a father.”

And Josh is a 27-year-old dairy farmer from Rosedale, B.C.

He’s looking for a woman to start a family and enjoy rural life with.

“I want a partner who wants to live and build a life here at the farm with me,” his Q&A says. I don’t plan on leaving.”

The 10-episode second season of Farming For Love is expected to begin filming in B.C. later this summer.
