Lutz Pumpen has introduced a mobile grease pump powered by a cordless screwdriver. Their goal is to help farmers, and others who work regularly with grease pumps to reduce ergonomic strain.

Workplace ergonomic strain continues to cost U.S. businesses billions of dollars each year, and even routine tasks like manually pumping lubricating grease can contribute to serious injuries.

Repetitive manual labor can have long-term consequences. For example, a fleet maintenance worker in agriculture, or a farmer themselves, may spend considerable time pumping thick grease into centralized lubrication systems using a hand pump. Over time, this repetitive strain can lead to chronic tendonitis or other musculoskeletal injuries.

“For these reasons, we always take ergonomics into account in the development of new products. One example is the new Lutz Lube Drive pump, which reduces physical strain when handling grease and thus prevents work-related injuries.”

Unlike traditional hand pumps, the Lutz Lube Drive operates without physical effort, heavy motors, or electrical cords. Users simply attach a standard cordless screwdriver, allowing a helical metal shaft to transfer NLGI 2 grease directly from containers up to 60 kg into lubrication systems.

“The Lutz Lube Drive reduces physical strain on employees, particularly in agriculture, construction, transportation, and industrial maintenance, where daily lubrication often leads to overexertion,” says Markus Seitenberg.
