Producers can receive a maximum of $25,000
New York farmers have mere hours to submit applications for tariff relief funding.
Producers in the state have until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 18 to apply for the Agricultural Resiliency Against Tariffs Program.
Gov. Kathy Hochul, during her 2026 State of the State address in January, proposed $30 million for the program to support specialty crop growers, livestock producers, and dairy farmers facing higher production costs.
Successful applicants can receive a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $25,000.
The funds will be distributed through two tracks.
One track is specifically for dairy farms while the second included livestock and related products, specialty crops, and aquaculture operations.
Farmers with products eligible for both tracks will need to fill our separate applications.
Two federal application deadlines are approaching too:
- Landowners have until Aug. 31 to review and complete farm base acres for ARC and PLC.
- Farmers have until Sept. 30 to apply for the USDA’s Supplemental Disaster Relief Program to assist with 2023/2024 production, revenue, and quality losses.
