Advanced forage inoculant boosts silage quality and feed efficiency

Lallemand Animal Nutrition has introduced its advanced forage inoculant, MAGNIVA® Platinum, in Canada. This new product is designed to support dairy and beef producers by improving silage quality and helping increase farm efficiency and profitability.

MAGNIVA® Platinum combines three selected strains of lactic acid bacteria with a strong enzyme package. This combination helps ensure fast and controlled fermentation while maintaining long-term silage stability. The product includes a specially developed strain that has been researched for over a decade, along with other proven bacterial strains that support better fermentation and preservation.

Research shows that this blend improves dry matter recovery, nutrient retention, and aerobic stability. It also helps maintain silage quality during feedout, giving producers more flexibility in managing their feed. Studies conducted across North America have demonstrated better fermentation results, improved hygiene, and higher feed efficiency when this technology is used.

“Managing input costs and maximizing efficiency are critical to maintaining profitability,” said Jeff Ast, Commercial Director, Americas, Lallemand Animal Nutrition. “Producers can improve profitability by optimizing silage quality, which is foundational to animal performance and helps reduce reliance on purchased feeds. MAGNIVA Platinum gives producers greater control at feedout while protecting the value of their forages.”

For livestock producers, silage plays a key role in animal performance. Better silage quality can reduce the need for purchased feed and lower overall production costs. By improving the value of stored forage, producers can make better use of their resources and improve herd productivity.

The development of MAGNIVA® Platinum is supported by years of research and field testing. It reflects continued efforts to provide reliable solutions that perform well under different conditions and forage types.

This launch strengthens Lallemand’s portfolio of forage solutions, which are backed by over 20 years of research and on-farm experience. With this innovation, producers gain a tool that helps protect forage quality from harvest to feeding, ensuring consistent performance and better outcomes for their livestock operations.
