Ontario Agriculture Celebrates 140 Years in Guelph

Current Students, Former Students, Researchers and Professors can also celebrate their proud agriculture and food college

Today, September 18th, the University of Guelph is celebrating the 140th anniversary of the Ontario Agriculture College from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.  The celebration, which is open to all former students, teachers, etc., will include music by the GMOs, food and local beer.

The event will also include the presentation of the “OAC Alumni Foundation G.P. McRostie Faculty Award” and the “OAC Alumni Association Faculty Awards”.

The University of Guelph traces its roots to the Ontario Agriculture College. The Alumni association boasts over 30,000 members.

The university has received such positive response on today’s event that they have changed the venue to Peter Clark Hall in the University Centre. The University suggests parking in P13 for those hoping to attend today’s event.

June 1 USDA Hogs and pigs report was slightly bearish while the U.S. $ Index traded to new contract lows as the de-dollarization that began in 2014 continues.

Feed in the form of soybean meal futures for livestock producers got cheaper, trading to new contract lows.

The Stats Canada seeded acreage update was bullish canola and wheat.
