This September marks the 17th Organic Month in Canada, and the Canada Organic Trade Association (COTA) is spotlighting the sector’s progress with its 2025 Quick Facts.

The national campaign, which runs from September 1-30, raises awareness about the value of organic agriculture and the benefits it brings to consumers, communities, and the environment.

Canadian shoppers are continuing to show their support for organic products. In 2024, total organic sales exceeded $9.75 billion, with food and beverage purchases making up $7.77 billion. • 7,510 certified organic operations nationally
  • 2.61 million organic acres across Canada
  • Ontario and Québec lead in processing and livestock production
  • Organic exports valued at $1.0 billion, up 15% from 2023
