State officials from Kansas, South Dakota and Montana head to Russia to promote U.S. beef cattle genetics in the Northern Plains.

According to the federal Agriculture Department’s Foreign Agriculture Service, Russia was the largest market in the world for U.S. cattle exports. The eight-day trade mission is being funded by the U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, which aims to promote markets for U.S. livestock producers.

Representatives seek to build a relationship between the two countries and promote U.S. beef cattle genetics. Key stops of the mission include Moscow and Novosibirsk.
