On June 30, 2024, Topigs Norsvin and Muyuan Foods broke ground on a new nucleus farm near Wuwei in the Gansu province of China.

Sharing their commitment to excellence and progress in pork production, the joint venture high-health nucleus farm will have a capacity of 1,200 sows and will house both maternal and terminal sire lines.

The farm will form the foundation of a breeding infrastructure, providing high-quality genetics for Muyuan and other China-based producers.

The beginning of a deep collaboration between Muyuan and Topigs Norsvin, the project is being a step forward in the field of modern agriculture.

Historically, the USDA December crop report is a non-event or another dud report as the USDA reserves any final supply changes to the final report in January of the following year in this case 2026.
