4-H ONTARIO COVID-19 UPDATE VOLUNTEER CONFERENCE & AGM'S

Ontario 4-H Council President, Dennis Carnegie, Ontario 4-H Foundation Chair John den Haan, 4-H Ontario Interim Executive Director, Evelyn Chambers as well as key 4-H Ontario staff met to discuss the recent and rapid developments of the COVID-19 virus in Ontario.

To ensure the health of our delegates, sponsors, volunteers and staff, the upcoming 4-H Ontario Volunteer Conference to be held on March 27-29th at the Sheraton North Parkway in Toronto is suspended in 2020. The Ontario 4-H Council and Ontario 4-H Foundation AGM’s will be rescheduled.

The health and safety of our 4-H community is our priority. We will be examining options for hosting the Annual General Meeting remotely for both the Ontario 4-H Council and Ontario 4-H Foundation in the coming weeks and will communicate to our membership as details arise.

As the situation with COVID-19 evolves, we will also make further decisions on award distribution and recognition of our dedicated volunteers.

If you have booked a room at the Sheraton North Parkway, please ensure you call to cancel your booking as soon as possible. 4-H staff are not able to cancel personal reservations. Full refunds of Conference registration fees will be issued within the next two weeks.

On behalf of the Council, Foundation and staff at 4-H Ontario, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Region 5 CAM conference planning committee for the substantial amount of work they have put forward to preparing for this year’s conference and to recognize this was not a decision taken lightly. We ask for your patience and understanding as we adapt to this ever-changing situation.

Please ensure that you regularly check your emails as well as the 4-H Ontario website for further updates. Thank you all for your diligence to the health and safety of our 4-H team, and your commitment to 4-H Ontario.
