Emerging women in ag leader recognized for service and mentorship
American Agri-Women (AAW) has selected Vikkie Becker as the recipient of its 2025 Rising Star Award. Presented at the organization’s National Convention, the award recognizes emerging leaders who demonstrate outstanding potential, commitment, and early impact within AAW and the agricultural community.
Becker recently assumed the role of AAW Vice President of Communications, reflecting her expanding leadership responsibilities. Her growth within the organization accelerated after graduating from the Road to Influence (RTI) program in 2024. Throughout the program, she actively strengthened her leadership abilities and now serves as a mentor, guiding new participants and helping them improve their communication and confidence.
Her involvement extends into several women in agriculture initiatives. Becker is an active member of Illinois Agri-Women (IAW) and contributes to the Women Changing the Face of Agriculture (WCFA) conference. She mentors young women from FFA and 4-H, encouraging them to explore agricultural careers and leadership opportunities. Her dedication to youth development is recognized as a key part of her contribution to agriculture.
Becker also works as a strong communicator and advocate across multiple organizations. She supports agricultural education, leadership programs, and community outreach, helping broaden awareness of women’s roles in agriculture. Her ability to connect with young leaders and industry partners highlights her commitment to building a stronger agricultural network.
AAW honored Becker for her leadership, mentorship, and service to the industry. Her work represents the growing influence of women in agriculture and the importance of supporting emerging leaders. As she continues to expand her impact, Becker stands as a role model for women pursuing leadership roles across the agricultural sector.
