AGCO has introduced a new line of tractors for farmers looking for machines with between 380 and 431 horsepower.

The tractors in Fendt’s 900 Vario MT lineup include the 938 (380 hp), 940 (405 hp) and 943 (431 hp). The base weight of the tractors is 33,400 lbs. (15,149 kg) and can be ballasted up to a maximum weight of 41,000 lbs. (18,597 kg).

“The Fendt 900 Vario MT is the most capable track tractor of its size,” Andrew Sunderman, marketing manager with Fendt, said during a virtual product release on Aug. 14.

The tractor is easy to operate, light on the soil and provides maximum comfort for operators, he added.

The series is powered by AGCO Power’s 9.8-litre Tier IV final engine. This design helps operators work more efficiently.

“The engine is also designed with a low-engine speed concept producing high torque levels and low engine RPMs for low fuel consumption and quiet operation,” Daniel Smith, marketing specialist for Fendt tractors in North America, said during the event.

Inside the cab, operators will find a 10.4-inch touchscreen to manage tractor settings, and monitor implements and application rates.

Operators can use a joystick to control speed and direction of the tractor. The joystick is also color-coded for easy implement and PTO usage.

The tractors are covered by Fendt’s Gold Star Customer Care Plan.

The warranty provides full coverage for three years or 3,000 hours, including routine maintenance and all other repairs.

Presales begin on Sept. 1. Deliveries to dealers are anticipated for Spring 2021.

In the meantime, Fendt will display two 900 Vario MT tractors at industry events and dealerships.

In addition to the 900 Vario MT tractors, Fendt introduced the 1100 Vario MT line of tractors and new IDEAL combines this summer.

Video: Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

#CortevaTalks brings you a short update with Cereal Herbicides Category Manager, Alister McRobbie, on how to get the most out of Broadway® Star.

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
