Agronomy Meeting Focuses On Livestock Production

Earlier this week Manitoba producers had a chance to hear from an agronomist and a cattle specialist on ways to improve agronomy practices around corn silage, fertilizer, and alfalfa establishment.

Marc Hutlet of Marc Hutlet Seeds hosted the event, and says this is the fourth meeting in a series of agronomy sessions, including a talk about corn and soybeans, which was held last week.

"We talked about an overview of how our business is doing, concerning promoting and testing some new corn silage hybrids for the silage market," Hutlet says, adding that livestock specialist Marcus Dueck also discussed manure fertilization.

Hutlet adds the upcoming growing season is arriving quickly, due to the warm weather caused by El Niño.
