Bill Seeks to Preempt EPA Action on Biofuels

A bipartisan group of ethanol backers in Congress are proposing legislation to head off possible action from EPA on biofuels. Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa) introduced legislation to stop EPA from retroactively lowering the amount of biofuel that’s supposed to be mixed into the nation’s transportation fuel supply, a policy the environmental agency has reportedly been considering. EPA has neither confirmed nor denied it plans to make such a proposal.
